#63 A Brief Introduction...

Posted by Rotten Ralph on 04 October 2013 - 04:03 pm

Hi GK & team. I wish you all the best on your endeavours. I have all the UK airports from ORBX & I suspect that I will be buying quite a few from yourselves (when finances permit). On the subject of what airports people would like, can I suggest EGLF (Farnborough), as I live & work next door to it. Also will you be doing military airfields in the future?

All the best

Dave

#59 Sim720 – Our Approach To The Flight Simulation Market

Posted by SIM720 on 04 October 2013 - 12:22 pm

SIM720 is pleased to announce itself as a supplier to the Flight Simulation market.

Who are we?  Well the truth is we are simmers and gamers at heart. We are a group of friends and like-minded people who have come together to try to make a difference to the flight simulation community and ourselves. Some may have heard of us already; we have worked undercover for other publishers including Landclass development for England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland released by Orbx. We also developed some England airports for ORBX such as Goodwood, Shoreham, Shuttleworth (Old Warden), etc. However, we are more than just the engine for others and therefore we now also need our own identity in addition.

As individuals we believe we have come a long way. Some of our team have moved countries to work with us and join together as a group. Not bad for some friends with vision, motivation and ideas. We want to continue to make products of which we can be proud. We have set up our own website and forum and wish to encourage everyone to connect to us and everybody else in the true spirit of gamers. We may not please everybody all the time but we want our voices to be heard, we want our ideas to be seen, we want our visions to become a reality. Even more importantly we want to interact openly with people from all backgrounds, opinions and nations. We welcome hearing what everyone has to say; we are looking for all views and to have a healthy conversation regarding our passion, our livelihood and the flight simmer’s enjoyment.

From October 2013 SIM720 will be releasing its own airports. Our initial airport will be Oban in Scotland, UK. And to introduce ourselves to the community we are also making a free mission available for this airport. We would of course welcome and appreciate all views and comments via our forums on these products. We expect to launch many more products before the end of the year in places around the world including the Far East, USA and Europe as well as more in the UK. Some of these are announced on our website.

We also know how annoying it is to get a product that does not work with a simmer’s existing add-ons; that's why all our airport products will have their own control panel, which will allow customers to select their currently installed scenery files thus enabling SIM720 airports to work seamlessly with Microsoft FSX and Lockheed Prepar3d with compatible photoreal blending with Default FSX, Orbx Global, and where they exist Orbx Regions, Horizon and MegaSceneryEarth. They are also DX10 compatible. We are on the lookout for places lots of people want to fly to that are not the major airports, are fun, challenging or interestingly different.

We are active in several areas other than flight simulation software but will make this clear on our yet to be released general website.  Our flight simulation website flight.sim720.co.uk is dedicated to flight simulation only so that is the place to catch up on SIM720 software sim developments.

Just a quickie to wish you guys well!  From what I've seen we are in for a treat.  I'm especially looking forward to Inverness, Stornoway and Isafjordur.

I guess you'll be bombarded with requests/suggestions but Belfast CIty needs doing, along with Casablanca, Algiers, Riyadh.

Best of luck!

Hi guys! Great to see you starting to establish yourselves in your own right. I've really enjoyed the work you've done for ORBX and I'm really looking forward to your future releases. If you're interested in putting out Kemble (EGBP) in the future, it's my base airfield and with virtually unlimited access I can get you as many as photos etc as you need.

Good luck!!!!!

congrats guys as long as your  future creations will be photoscenery compatible I can see no reason that your venture should not be highly successful, especially when looking at  past creations as well.

No doubt you will get a huge list of airports to make and no doubt you will need to revisit some already made by others, however please dont stick to only small atmospheric VFR airports the big sellers are those that can also take larger a/c IMHO

Best of luck on the future

#642 A Thank You For Your Scenery

Posted by davveb on 23 October 2013 - 04:25 pm

Just thought I'd make my first post a general thank you. Not just for the excellent Oban and Caernarfon, but also for the UK scenery and airports that Sim720 has done for FTX. You have got me back into using FSX for general aviation touring around Britain.

#1461 P3DV2 Oban & Volumetric fog

Posted by Rob Ainscough on 23 January 2014 - 10:26 am

Hillside looks a little odd in the fog at take-off, but otherwise "I think" this weather is more appropriate for the area ... a little snow and then some green??

Great fun flying the water ways of Scotland ... so many to enjoy.  Just wanted to fly today, no plan ... no fuel too ... ooops!

1440p should be available .

Cheers, Rob.
