I have several topics which I have clicked to follow, and yet whenever a new post is added or a new topic is started (I have the 'follow this forum ticked' one one particular part of the forum) I receive no notifications.

Yup - I think the fact that I got notifications of PMs from the forum misled me.  All sorted now & sorry to have troubled you when you're so busy with Inverness Paul.
