Bruce, the default airports are not high polygon. They are basically square boxes with minimal and low quality textures applied. When we develop an airport we are are putting in high poly buildings with detailed textures, clutter, trees and vegetation, high res ground polys and much more. We need to work within a FPS loss of 20-50 on an engine that is many years old. This is not an excuse just a fact. We are listening and will continue to get it right. Even if only one person has an issue, that is one person to many TO US. However, the team are working on an old engine, with a customer base of varying specs. We want quality and frame rates. We have been told recently that certain other add ons get better frame rates than ours.... However we could state many issues with these.......we do not ....... So......no excuses for SIM 720 as a customer you have a voice and will be listened to. We will continue to sort issues that are brought to us.

Barry,

I have no performance issues with larger airports from 29palms and flytampa. Their airports are higher quality (sorry), and have no issues like the ones people are experiencing with KSBA. I don't think the age of the software it's running on is the issue here. Your developers should be aware of what they're developing for.

Tenfour, agree with you, what I was meaning was that default airports are less demanding than add ons. Re others being higher quality please don't be sorry, if that's what you think cool. We are also having a lot of people advising that they are getting full frame rates and all seems ok. We will continue to answer all issues raised.

Hi Barry,

I’m going to move on from the framerate topic as it seems you won’t budge. I also find it frustrating that you try and bring other product “issues” in to the topic and then say you’re not making excuses.

My main concern is the pricing of KSBA. Why is it so expensive? As twharrel stated in another thread, there’s an evident drop in quality since Catalina airport. From what I can see, the consistency of airports is lacking too. Why are you concentrating on animation and building interior gimmicks instead of creating a quality airport? I don’t mean to sound harsh, but when you’re asking for that much money, I not only have to compare your airport to other products in that price range, but I also have to compare to previous airports you’ve made. The new Berlin airport from 29palms is less expensive and far more detailed and many times the size.

Please don’t take this as me being harsh, I just feel that these issues really need to be addressed.

I've managed to find a comfortable fit between my PC - fsx & S720's KSBA, result I'm getting a solid 20 fps.

As with other addon scenery sometimes you just have to experiment & untick a box or two & or check your sliders in fsx, depending on your pc's spec.

My personal opinion on that is I shouldn't have to tweak my system to make something work, and I think Sim720 would agree with that.

The updated installer and libraries did nothing for me, still have an unflyable slideshow.

Hi Bruce #1   Have you tried using "unlimited" fps? I realise that the normal sop is to limit fps but it did show a marked improvement for me with no adverse effects that I could see.
