SIM720 EGPE V1.1

Hi,

When I took off from EGPE at dusk the approach lighting and runway edge lighting was about the best Ive seen in FSX. However later I flew from Gatwick to Inverness and landed in darkness. To my dismay when I was on approach it seemed that someone had nicked all the bulbs out of the approach lighting and runway edge lights. PAPI were all ok.

I thought Id seen this problem in another part of the forum but I cant find it now. Has this been fixed ? Can it be fixed ?

Thanks

Graham

Hi,

The topic your thinking of is here http://forum.sim720....-lightning-fsx/ but no we haven't found a fix yet other than to either turn the lights off then on again in Night Environment or refresh the scenery library

Paul, have you any technical ideas why this happens? Have you spoken to Chris Bell, NEUK author, about it? I can raise it with him if you like? Cheers K

Hi,

I hopefully found a fix for this issue, if you could test and report back for me would be great
1. Download Attached File  Effects.zip   3.77KB   524 downloads
2. Extract and overwrite the file here "{fsx/p3d}\Effects\”
3. Do a test flight and report back

Thanks

Paul

Good news Paul,

The lights were on when I landed at EGPE today. I got no runway center lights but I dont think there is any at EGPE anyway.

Great work mate. Thanks for sticking with it ;-)

I have just installed these new effects, and the runway and approach lights are now working. However, the runway lights disappear beyond a certain distance, which means that they only "switch on" when relatively close. This happens in sequence, so the lights start to come on along the length of the runway (one by one) as I get closer. This is not realistic. They should ALL be visible ALL of the time. In addition, the taxiway edge lights are still quite faint (although they look OK to me), and the green taxiway centreline lights are still "flat" (as opposed to the "globe" effect of the runway and approach lights). Is this correct?

your P3Dv2 correct? if so we don't use the runway effects in p3dV2 as they are broken; make sure you have the p3dv2 patch installed which swaps then for default lights which work.
