I Have just purchased Caernarfon Airport and installed to Prepar3d v2.5,

I am using Horizon photo scenery and have used the control panel to select this option.

everything appears ok except for a couple of issues,

1st there appears to be a ridge surrounding the airport and the airport is sunken.

2nd there is a large section of North Wales missing and Snowden is covered by water.

I have tried the scenery above & below horizons

I am attempting to upload photos.

That's a new one for me, does disabling our airport put things back to normal? (untick in scenery library)

The ridge is from the flatten not matching the correct height, do you have any addon mesh products?

As for the water it could be several things, i will need to re-install and test next week.

How did you install Horizon photo scenery to p3dv2? because as far as i know there is no installer for it, so maybe its a missing file somewhere but ill try and replicate it.

thanks for the fast response, I added Horizon manually as it is installed to a separate drive but after you mentioning horizon I started to delete one by one the entry's, and traced it down to  vol2,   area 1,   2.4 photo scenery, I reinstalled that area and all is back, so I assume I had a corrupt / altered / deleted file in that folder.

another FSX . P3d anomaly I suppose.

the flatten I have also traced to horizon vol 3, area 1, 4.8 mesh. if I uncheck there is no ridge around the Airfield, I reinstalled that folder and still the same. so if I use horizons mesh there  is a ridge.

It does flatten if I use uk2000 airfields vol 3 Caernarfon independently or at the same time but than I have 2 active sceneries for the same area.

so at the moment I am not using the Horizon mesh, but I am not sure if this will cause issues elsewhere.

is there a  file to flatten?

You don't need to have ALL of the UK2000 Caernarfon files active. If you only want to use the UK2000 Caernarfon flatten file, then keep the EGCK_CVX0501.bgl file in your VFR Airfields Volume 3 Scenery folder, and move all of the other files that start with "EGCK" to the VFR Airfields Volume 3 Options folder.

Thanks for that, I have just reinstated Horizons mesh and placed that file back into uk2000 scenery folder and it appears to be working a treat.

so it appears there is a problem with Horizon and the airport flatten. but more than likely another  anomaly with P3d V2.5 !!

Thanks again,
