Hi Guys,

Just downloaded latest files for installing into FSX SE, when requested to auto add into scenery, it states it can't find scenery.cfg file in FSX SE, and fails to install?

Cheers,

Hi,

Am going to need a bit more info please.

1. do you have normal fsx installed as well? i.e.dual install of fsx and steam?

1a. if you only have steam installed did you used to have fsx installed but replaced with steam.

2. did it install to the steam fsx folder?

2a. if it doesn't go in the steam folder, when you run the install where does it show its installing to? (should show location after selecting fsx steam)

3. what airport installer did you use?

Paul

Hi Paul,

I've Uninstalled now but...

1 - No only Steam

1a- Yes, and cleared registry out before installing Steam

2- I'm not sure

3- caernarvon

after loading FSX SE, it wasn't in the scenery list, but was available to install manually

Libs wouldn't auto install either

Thanks.

Mal...

Hi Paul,

Further to the previous, when I install through the No 1 path to original FSX, both the airport file, and the latest libs file, install correctly, however after loading the Caernarvon airport a couple of the static aircraft, overlap each other, one is facing the wrong way when parked, and the larger one opposite, near the caravan overlaps into it, and the building!

Cheers,

Hi,

Sounds like the installer is not locating FSX from the registry properly, i will do some more tests and try and locate the error.

As for the overlapping aircraft can you try this file for me.

1. Download Attached File  EGCK_ADEX_GRJ.zip   1.55KB   590 downloads

2. Extract and overwrite the file here "{fsx/p3d}\SIM720\Airports\SIM720_EGCK\Scenery\"

Hi Paul,

Did as you asked, re-installed into No 1 = original FSX path, and copied over the attached file, and now all appears well again! and I have my favourite airport up and running!

Thanks very much for all your help!

I take it until you sort out the installers to FSX SE ver's 2.5, I'm best re-installing all my other v2.5 airports into No ! = original FSX path?

Thanks,

Mal...

Yes if the No 1 option works for you use it.

How did you clean the registry when you removed FSX originally, i ask as i can't seem to reproduce the problem at the minute so there may of been an entry left behind (there is more than one entry)

Hi, I used the FS Reg tweak tool, as recommended by Ed and Nick from Orbx, they had a link from the FSX SE forum on the FTX Orbx site.

I Just used the Tweak to open a new path to FSX SE, to enable Orbx scenery to install properly. I also use CCleaner to clean out my registry every time I un-install anything.

Cheers,

Mal

Cheers Mate, funny enough the only problems I've had with installs into FSX SE are the ones with a dedicated FSX SE installer, one with the 737 600/700 add on from PMDG, which I had to use the FSX path, and now your UK v 1.25 airports, maybe my original FSX files have not all been removed after all, never mind, only time will tell...

Thanks once again for your help,

Mal...

Hi Again,

Further to the above, I just installed the latest libs file, and it still wont install into 4:FSX SE without reporting an error, I had to re install into original 1:FSX to work properly,

I still don't think your new FSX SE installers are working correctly for me!

Just for your info!

Hi Mal,

Yes its a weird one and must be some weird registry issue local to you more as I've been unable to reproduce here even using the FS reg tweak tool. Maybe somewhere you still have the registry entry for FSX:SE as option 4 (FSX:SE) on our installers first looks for that registry entry and if not found looks for the normal FSX entry (same as option 1) but as long as 1 of the options works all is good.
