So, hadn't been here in some time.  A while back, quite a while now, I bought Catalina...nice work, enjoy the airstrip.

Checked out Santa Barbara some time back as well.  Didn't go for it due to price.  Now see McClellan-Palomar (KCRQ) Airport and think this would be nice in my collection.

Problem is that I'm Canadian (well not really a problem, in fact darn glad I am), I have to double the price listed to determine my cost, 16 pounds is $30 Canadian.  It's killing me. Are UK folks that well off? While I know that a lot of work goes into these airports I start choking at $25 Canadian.  I'm easily swayed if the price is $22 Canadian.  I buy lots of addon airports and just picked up KSEA which cost me $33 from SimMarket with taxes and Paypal charges.

Perhaps you can see my point, KSEA is a massive airport, detail is immense....and only $3 more in Canadian $ than Palomar.  If you haven't checked it out, have a look and you will see what I mean.

Just thought I'd share a viewpoint.  A few bucks here and there doesn't sound like much but I have tons of other competing sceneries to pull me in their direction.

Let me know when it will go on sale!

cheers

Bryan

Thanks Bryan, and sorry to hear your issue with the exchange rate. I would like to advise that SIM720 employ full time staff based in our own offices so we carefully calculate the return needed to support the continuation of our developers. However, I can hear you say this doesn't help you. So I have set a personal reminder to contact you when our next offer is on. just recently in April our published offer for our airports including Catalina and McClellan resulted in the price point being reduced from £15.99 to £12.79. That would have been a saving of roughly 6 Canadian dollars for each airport. So technically under your $25 nightmare and only $2 more than your easily swayed. So although it may not be the complete answer you were hoping for I can confirm that I have set a reminder to personally contact you when our next offer comes around.

Hope you understand and thank you for your open and honest opinion.

When I was in England + Wales (which I enjoyed a lot in terms of people there), I was shocked how expansive EVERYTHING was ...especially so many things I couldn't even imagine that you had to pay for at all!

From that point I would at least say the sceneries are not heavily overpriced, considering their quality. Including tax it's about 25€ which is the average price for an bigger good quality scenery - at least for us Euros. But there is 1 exeption: Santa Barbara! At the pictures it looks good as the other sceneries, too. But not really better. Is there a special reason why this one is so expensive compared to all the others? There are sceneries I'm more interested in, but I was just curious..

Byan and DeeJay have a point about the disproportional price for Santa Barbara.

From recollection, all of the Sim720 airports have had approximately the same price, Santa Barbara being the exception (at a much higher price).

I have all of the Sim720 airports, buying most of them as soon as they were released. Once again, Santa Barbara was the exception. I did not buy it until months after its release and then, only when it was on special and being sold at a reduced price. Until then, I could not justify to myself paying a much higher price for that airport compared to the others (which I enjoyed using and was very satisfied with), especially when consideration was given to what else was available in the marketplace at the same or a cheaper price. I posted a comment to this effect on the PC Aviator Australia Community Forum in May 2014, noting that Santa Barbara"s price appeared then to be about 35% higher than the other Sim720 products.
