So Orbx release True Earth North (Scotland) the other day and I have checked color match between your Oban and Stornoway airport and luckely it blend very nicely when selecting "Product compatible with Orbx Scotland like 95% match I would say! The only problem is that come winter your airport surrounding has snow and obviously theirs does not since its summer only. Is it possible to have the  "summer texture" all year round much like the "Compatible with Horizon VFR" option where there is a static photoreal image regardless of season?

 

I would really appreciate an answer to this.

Currently the quick answer is no im afraid but i have added to the wishlist if/when we ever do another update to the airport(s).

Very very sorry to hear that. If this is a financial matter I am sure there are several people who just bough TrueEarth that are very interested in a pay update, myself included. Just saying! Does not look like a complicated update either since the terrain images are there already and look great the way they are, they just need to be visible year round.

Hi Mike,

 

Yes it is a simple fix now ive looked in to it more and found all the required stuff.

Here is an unoffical update for both airports, its has not been tested but it shouldn't break anything (worst case would be reinstall the airports)

 

1. download each patch - Caernarfon - Inverness - Oban - Stornoway

2. unzip to the desktop.

3. copy the folder (SIM720) to the root of your sim {FSX/P3D} say yes to overwrite it should overwrite 1 file for each airport.

4. open the airport control panel and select "Orbx True Earth North" for each airport.

5. test and report back here

 

If this works correctly for you i will also do the other 2 airports in the UK

can you redownload Oban again as i fixed an error already and ive added the other 2 airports too.

Just a quick note. It works great, thank you so much Paul for this Christmas present! Your terrain backgound is a bit lighter in color compared to that of Orbx True Earth but its almost not noticable, especially not in lower visibility

Opps, that why doing things at 11pm isnt always wise
