Totally reckless I know, but I started wondering whether I could get my Q400 into Oban, and then I wondered what if...? Now I know I am going to have to try every a/c in my hangar to see how many I can get down and how many crash and burn ;)

The QW Avro RJ70/85 would be no problem, and I fully intend to test the 737-600NGX :) Of course, landing on Runway 01 would be somewhat easier than 19....

EDIT: For the record, I landed the 600NGX on runway 27 at EGJB Guernsey this afternoon with plenty of room to spare. That is 1463 metres, so I will have 223 fewer metres to play with at Oban. You could always "work your way up to it" with EGPN Dundee (1400 metres), and EGFH Swansea (1350 metres)....

Hi Guys,

Just for fun, flew the PMDG 777 from Glasgow, and landed at Oban, with a foot to spare!! very dodgy!!! (LOL)

Twotter, PMDG J41, and Capt Sim 737, all landed with lots to spare! Haven't tried QW yet!

Had trouble landing Majestic Dash, came in to fast, had to go around!

Now try getting the 777 back out. Please use runway 01 for this :D Seriously though.....was the 777 landing "by the book"? By this, I mean a normal touchdown that wouldn't have resulted in the real world plane breaking apart! Obviously, displaced threshold areas at airports like this need to be used as landing zones to have any chance of stopping a relatively large airliner, so that is acceptable.

As an example, the landing I made at Plockton today (597 metres) in the Flight1 Cessna Citation Mustang would have resulted in me never being allowed to set foot in a pilot's seat again!

Hi Chris,

(LOL)...no just a normal hands on landing, caught the threshold right on target, all brakes full on, slight hard on landing, but no damage to aircraft!

Unbelievable, I landed the 777, but I couldn't get the majestic Dash down...brilliant!

I assume you used the thrust reversers aswell? That's half the fun when I am landing the 737NGX. I always love the sound of thrust reversers at full power! B)
